Living Out Our Vision - At Manch LIFE, we see the value of a community that experiences God at work in the everyday happenings of life. Based on the example of the New Testament church, we view relationships within the kingdom of God as a shared life in many respects. This relational component is central to our understanding of church. The Biblical example of church is more a web of relationships than events to attend or places to go. What we actually have been finding is that what we consider as “being the church” happens more during the week than on Sundays. It’s the serving, witnessing, praying and gathering (even just for fun) that comprises an all-encompassing view of our life together in Christ. So most of what is “church” to us happens in our areas of living – our homes and places we naturally gather. For this reason, our weekly LIFE Groups will characterize a lot of our church life. These LIFE Groups focus primarily on the application of the two central thrusts of our church – Spirit inspired community and Christ centered discipleship. Our goal is to train leaders and disciples who will multiply these LIFE Groups in a way that allows people to truly “be” the church together. Learn about LIFE groups by clicking here. As a result of this understanding, our Sunday worship services are seen more as a celebration of the life we live together in Christ. Our LIFE groups will gather to worship and learn with each other. “Sunday” is then a result, or outcome, of a deeper reality that we experience daily. These Sunday services are structured into two parts – 1) a time of worship, prayer and praise, and 2) a time of teaching and response. Our worship style is contemporary with a blend of upbeat and reflective music. We try and make worship a communal and interactive experience between God and our church family. On a final note, quarterly (1st Sunday in January, April, July & October) we have a Celebration Sunday. Over and above our normal celebratory Sunday style, these 4 services a year are devoted entirely to the Biblical understanding of celebration. These services are filled with art, singing, dancing, poetry, personal testimonies, thanksgiving, and feasting! It is a time to celebrate with thanksgiving all that God has done and is continuing to do in and through us. If you are interested in plugging in to any of our gatherings, please e-mail us and tell us about yourself! |
